Gas leak interrupts stay for Hamburg hotel guests

A gas leak at a chemical company forced more than 100 hotel guests and others living in the area in a Hamburg neighbourhood to be evacuated on Thursday night.
Hotel guests told broadcaster NTV that they could smell something strange and had eye irritations before emergency services arrived to evacuate the building.
More than 100 people total including dozens of hotel visitors were evacuated and many were treated for respiratory problems.
The gas was initially unknown. Residents have been advised to keep doors and windows closed.
