Mother and daughter killed in own home

A mother and daughter were apparently murdered in their house in western Germany on Wednesday afternoon.
The 84-year-old mother and her 58-year-old daughter were found by a friend in the detached home in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne. “Initial investigations suggest it was murder,” police said in a statement.
The neighbour found the mother on the upstairs floor of the home with “severe head injuries” at around 4.30pm, Cologne police said.
Police were called and officers then found the daughter’s body in the attic, also with head injuries.
