Pupils catch teacher on porn site in class

The private school, just outside Bonn, suspended Roland W. after a number of parents came forward at the end of September and said their children had apparently noticed the teacher watching explicit films online on a laptop during lesson time.

State prosecutors in Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, confirmed on Tuesday that his house has been searched.

His laptop was confiscated and an investigation has been launched into whether he was distributing pornographic material.

Fred Apostel, chief prosecutor, told the Bild newspaper that the claims of the pupils, aged 12 to 13, from Otto-Kühne school were "believable”.

Parents received an email from the school's leadership explaining the situation. In it, it said: “Measures have been taken to ensure that any chance of putting the children in danger has been ruled out.”

If Roland W. is found guilty of exposing under-18s to adult material he could face up to a year in prison or a fine, the state prosecutor told Bild.
