Tuesday also brought the sad news that Hans Riegel, German-born CEO of the Haribo sweets empire, had died at the age of 90.
And Thursday saw a German TV broadcaster receiving over 500 tip-offs after airing a programme about the 2007 disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann.
