New in German cinemas this week: 'Quartet'
Find movies playing in English in Germany with The Local's cinema guide.
If you haven’t yet made it to Quartet, now’s the time to check out Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut. A sweet British comedy-drama based on a Ronald Harwood play of the same name, Quartet follows three retired opera singers as they prepare their annual concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday – an endeavor interrupted by the sudden reappearance of the long-estranged fourth member of their original quartet. Charming, entertaining and well-acted, Quartet is the perfect bromide for a dreary February night.
