The Local's English-language movie listings for Germany

An American western. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson. ’Nuff said? Django Unchained follows a freed slave (Foxx) through the Deep South and Antebellum West on a mission to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from infamously cruel plantation owner Calvin Candie (DiCaprio).

Accompanied by a German bounty hunter Schultz (Christopher Walz), Django treks through the frontier determined to be reunited with his enslaved wife. Entertaining, playful and at the same time ethically substantive, Django Unchained is Tarantino at his best – but be prepared for the usual blood and guts.
